As part of a community effort to address domestic violence, we offer a 36-week educational program for men (BIP) or women (Turning Points) who batter. The class is designed to educate men and women who batter to consider options to cease their abusive behavior. One aspect of the program is to address power and control within relationships. Men and women who batter make a choice to do so and because of this choice, they are also able to choose to stop abusive behaviors. We recognize that the decision to stop using violence lies exclusively with the offender.
We now offer a Spanish-speaking Men’s Batterer’s Intervention group and Women’s Turning Points group. The Spanish BIP group is open to any individual 18 years of age or older and meets every Thursday at 4:45pm-6:45pm at District 5 Probation Reporting Center. Turning Points is available by appointment only. There is an initial intake process for the group members. To set up an appointment for the intake session or if you have any other questions, please contact us at 402-564-2155 or 1-800-658-4482.
