This opportunity allows volunteers to do activities and play with children at the Center, while parents are meeting with advocates. Training and resources provided.
The Victim Support Group volunteer allows volunteers to assists in facilitating women’s support group. Duties include providing active listening, emotional support, resources, safety planning, and assist staff in serving clients. Training and resource materials provided.
Center for Survivors can always use help in regards to office operations and functioning. This opportunity would include answering phones, greeting clients, and light general office duties. Training and resources provided.
Prepare meals for clients in shelter. Meals will then be delivered to the Center for the client.
The Center for Survivors holds an annual fundraiser the “Summer Sizzle” and we rely on volunteer assistance. Duties include organizing and participating in the Summer Sizzle, attending meetings, and help assess, evaluate and plan for future fundraising options. Training and resources provided.
Volunteers are provided a list by clients staying in emergency shelter. Grocery shoppers will once a week take the grocery list provided and purchase the items requested by the client in emergency shelter. Funds are provided via the Center for Survivors grants and donations to provide food for clients in shelter. Training and resources provided.
Volunteers assists staff with manning and tearing down booths at county fairs, health fairs and other community outreach events. Accompany staff on outreach trips to assist in distribution of brochures and services provided by the Center for Survivors. Accompany staff to speaking engagements to share about volunteer opportunities at the Center for Survivors. Training and resources provided.
Volunteers are needed to help process and organize clothing and other donations that come in to the Center.
Assist in decorating, planning, setting up/cleaning up for various special events including Summer Sizzle, Domestic Violence Vigil, Annual Meeting, etc.
Assist the Child Advocate in engaging children during children's group on Monday evenings from 5:30-6:30pm. Training and resources provided.
Assist in minor maintenance issues or cleaning/organizing of the office. Attend to lawn and yard upkeep.
Assist in printing, folding, addressing, and mailing quarterly newsletters, invitations to various events, etc.
