Denim Day 2017

In honor of April being Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Center reached out to businesses and individuals in all six counties we serve to participate in Denim Day on April 26th. Denim Day began in 1998 after an Italian Supreme Court judge overturned a rape conviction because the victim wore tight jeans. Wearing jeans became an international symbol of protest against erroneous and destructive attitudes about sexual assault.

This year, over $2,000 was raised in this effort.  These funds will assist the Center for Survivors in providing much needed services for clients.  We would like to thank all of the businesses and individuals who participated for your donation!  We appreciate your support!

Participants included:  Bank of the Valley, Bank of the West, Boone County Health Center, Butler County Courthouse, Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce, Columbus Area United Way, Colfax County Attorney’s Office, Columbus Physical Therapy, Dale Employees Credit Union, Farm Bureau Financial Services, Eakes, First National Bank & Trust Co., First Nebraska Bank, Great Western Bank, Harley Davidson Sales, Jackson Services Inc., Office Net, Schumacher, Smejkel, Brockhaus, & Hurley PC, Schuyler Central High School, St. Anthony’s School, Shell Creek Elementary, Shell Valley Insurance Agency LLC, Village of Howells, and a few other anonymous donors
